So I decided to go back to Star Wars : The Old Republic after almost 2 years away from it.  Boy were the changes something. First, it was during the Dark Vs Light (DvL) event, so 200% xp. Cool, always love that.  They had increased the Class story xp so that it was really the only mission chain you needed to do in order to level your Character.  Then there was this whole Legendary thing on the Character selection screen, where if you completed all 8 class stories you get this “Flair” on your character titles account wide.  Well shoot, why not.

I only had to do the Republic side (had already done all the Empire side stories).  Had a Trooper and a smuggler both in their 40s so finishing them was fairly easy.  Then I had to do the consular and Knight.  Those took me a bit.  While doing those, I checked into the DvL event more closely and decided that since both of my Republic force users were new, why not try to complete a few levels of it.

I came back in early November, so I didn’t have much time (even less as I had work, as well as a girlfriend and her kids to spend time with (not a chore mind you, Just a responsibility that I didn’t want to shirk)).  Managed to hit Valiant Level of the event, which netted me some xp set bonus gear (+40%).  I stopped there.  Not that I didn’t have the time to  go farther, as I still had a few days before the event was over, but because I felt that I needed to be a responsible adult.  The next level would have completed the armor set and netted me an extra 10% (bringing the total up to 50%) but honestly, I just felt that I needed to unplug for the rest of the weekend.

A week later, I was back into SWTOR.  I had taken my Consular up to level 65 for the DvL event, but just didn’t really like the character.  I decided to call up my main, a level 55 Merc who was chilling out on Makeb, and figured I would start my run for 70 (the new level cap) with him.  After putting the xp gear on him, and getting all the mods needed to make me competitive, I jumped into Shadow of Revan with the purpose of doing all the expansions in order (although I think I need to go back to Makeb with him and finish it up).  I figure I can hit 70 before getting into KotFE, and be able to focus him on Command XP through those missions as there are a lot of Gold level (ie command xp giving) mobs in them.  I figure those will be fun to run at max level.

I am about 2/3 of the way through Shadow of Revan (just got to the Rishi Village) and I am almost level 68.  Not too bad really.  I am liking the bonus gear, but I hate the look of it.  Thank the Maker for appearance tabs.  I through my resolute protector armor in it, paid the required money (32500 creds, not cheap at level 55 compared to 300 at level 1) and boom.  No one see’s the ugly armor.  All they see is the Protector armor with black and orange paint.

I also got Cybertech (that along with scavenging and Underworld trading) up to 600.  So keeping his mods and enhancements up to level is pretty easy.  I just need to get someone to level up slicing so that I can make prototype level items.  I am also working on my Alts crafting while I am playing.  I log in, check there progress, buy the new schematics at the trainer, send everyone else off on missions, log off, and rinse/repeat with the next alt.  So I almost have Armstech, artiface, and synthweaving maxed out.

With luck, tonight I will hit 70, while not the next post (as that is going to be about some of the changes I have seen), the post after that will be about life post 70 and Galactic Command.  I may start doing these posts from a roleplay perspective, just to keep things interesting.  Maybe with the new Sorc I am going to make (I do love the Inquisitor storyline as well as the play style of the Sorcerer).  I think that could make for some interesting reading.  Life of a slave turned Sith Lord, through the eyes of the former slave.  Could be fun.  Anyway, Laters.
